ラジニカーントのロボット映画Enthiran

インド映画製作史上もっとも制作費をかけたロボット映画がEnthiran。タミール語映画では絶大な人気のおっさん俳優であるラジニカーントが主演する本作は本格的なスペシャル・エフェクトを駆使すると同時にインド映画の恒例の歌と踊りをミックスした映画だ。内容はフランケンシュタインのように、感情をもったロボットが自身の創造者の恋人に恋してしまい、自己複製してタミルナドゥ州の州都チェンナイを破壊してしまうという筋書きだ。スペシャル・エフェクトはジュラシック・パークとターミネーターに参加したスタジオが製作し、アクション・シーンはグリーン・デスティニーでアクション指導を担当したユエン・ウーピンが振り付けているなど見栄えするものとなっている。映画は現在youku上で見ることが出来る。
