googleがebayからskypeを買い取るうわさ
いまロンドンのウェブ・コミュニティーでのうわさによれば、googleがebayからskypeを買収することで交渉中とのこと。googleのモバイル分野への進出の野心や、ebayがskypeは失敗した買い物だったことを認めている点からいってもうわさは理にかなっている。またgoogleはモバイル・プロジェクトをすべてロンドン・ベースにしていることからもうわさの出所としてうってつけの場所といえる。
Currently in favour around London's webbist community is the rumour that Google has been in negotiations to buy Skype, the web telephony firm, from eBay. Plus, Google bases all of its mobile projects in London, so this is the fitting place for such a rumour.

While Skype is still growing strong and eBay's CEO Meg Whitman recently said that the company would continue to invest in the unit, shareholders might have had enough after the $1.39 billion write-down from the acquisition. Further, two years later, there still does not appear to be any great synergy between eBay and Skype.
