中国政府トムとジェリーの方言版を禁止に

標準語の普及を図っている中国政府はトムとジェリーの方言版を禁止にした。もともとのトムとジェリーは言葉を話さないが中国語版には声が付く。これに対して評論家や言語学者は反対の声を上げている。北京大学の余傑などは方言は標準語の影響力を殺ぐものではなく逆に補うもので，地方劇は方言で演じられるがそれらすべて禁止して京劇だけ残すのかと言っている。

Dubbed into the rich regional dialects of Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Shanghai, the cartoon duo have been a huge success in China but the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has ordered an end to broadcasting foreign-made TV shows in dialect.
