skypeとgoogle talkが相互通話可能に

googleとebeyが広告で協力することが発表されたばかりだけれども、ebay傘下のskypeとgoogle talkがxmppを使って相互利用できるようになるらしい。skypeが独自プロトコルを使わずxmppを使うことでIMクライアントのリーダーになるのかは不明。しかしこれが実現すれば現在macとlinuxでgtalkクライアントがないが、skypeさえあればgtalkと通話ができることになる。相互通話可能になるのはテスト開始が2007年初頭なので2007年中だと思われる。

What does all this mean in detail? We'll see next year, as testing of all these new joint initiatives is said to begin in early 2007. For now, one thing is sure ― great companies working together is always exciting news.
