グローバル・フリー・テレビジョンであるcybersky-tvはcoolstreaming、sopcast、ppliveなどと同様のp2pを利用したフリーのTVストリーミング・ソフト。cybersky-tvはビデオ・プレイヤーとbytetornadoというp2pコンポーネントとビデオ・インサーターの3つのコンポーネントから成っていて、うちbytetornado以外はオープンソースとして公開されている。ビデオを見るのにはビデオ・プレイヤーとbytetornadoの２つがあればいい。
In the mean time several alternatives had emerged such as SoPcast and PPLive. All are in early stages of development and aren't perfect. Most popular by now is PPLive. This program is largely in Chinese but there are instructions in English, French and Italian. SoPcast is superior to PPLive in that it let's you serve your own streams very easily over the network, but gives trouble as soon as more and more people watch a particular stream.
