クメールOSプロジェクト

カンボジア語のフォントとキーボード・ドライバーがダウンロードできるクメールOSプロジェクトはユニコード・フォントを基準としてフリーのオープンソース・ソフトウェアを開発することを目的としている。他にはメール・ソフトのthunderbirdのカンボジア語へのローカライゼーションや現在20以上ある互換性のないABCやLimonといったユニコードに対応していないレガシー・フォントからユニコード・フォントへの変換ソフトなどを開発している。また，現在あるフォントではクメール語のアルファベット順にソートができないのでデータベースを作ることも出来ないことから，仏僧Chuon Nathの編纂した2冊本の権威あるChuon Nath dictionaryの辞書配列を基準としたソート・プログラムの開発を目指している。

Converters to turn texts typed in ABC and Limon Khmer legacy fonts into Unicode texts. These converters are now being widely used for projects external to OFC.
Dictionary search tools for typographical and orthographical research. These tools can search for any word in the dictionary using wild cards.
A program for making changes in the Khmer master word list.
A collation (sorting) program that sorts following the rules used by the Chuon Nat Khmer-Khmer dictionary.

The email program is "Thunderbird", the mailer section of the well-known Mozilla communications program. It works in Microsoft Windows and Linux environments. The program was competed in July marking, at the same time, the release of the first open source program in the Khmer language. About 9000 messages contained in the program had to be translated into Khmer in order to localise the Mozilla mailer and browser.
