カザフスタンでアジアとヨーロッパを結ぶ新たな鉄道建設

上海で日本など23カ国が調印した東京とイスタンブールを結ぶアジアハイウエー計画があるが、カザフスタンが国土を横断する新たな狭軌道の鉄道を建設する計画がある。完成すれば中国からカザフスタンを通り、カスピ海に出て、トゥルクメニスタン、イラン、トルコに抜けるルートで、太平洋の港からヨーロッパまでシベリア鉄道で現在15日かかっている貨物輸送が半分の8日になるという。カザフスタンとロシアは広軌道を使っており、ヨーロッパと中国は国際的な狭軌道を使っているので、中国とカザフ国境で貨物を別の貨車に載せかえるコストと時間がかかっている。

Kazakh and Russian railways use broad gauge tracks while Europe and China use international narrow gauge tracks.
Kazakhstan intends to build a new narrow-gauge railway line straight across its vast territory to the Caspian Sea, eliminating the time and cost needed to transfer goods from narrower to wider trains at the Chinese border.

Gmailを使ってみた

GmailはActiveXを使うので，マッキントッシュからだとIEやSafariは使えず，現状mozillaかfirefoxを使うことになる。
